Walter Pidgley was born about 1900 in Holdenhurst in Hampshire, he was the son of James Pidgley and Sabina Ayres Walter served in the Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery, in Battalion Territorial Force, his rank was a driver and his service number 831546 and previous units he served was rfa.t.3881.dvr. Walter died serving in the field and was killed in action in France and Flanders on 25th march 1918.
